What is the Most Common Vehicle Failure?

Car Brakes

To keep your car in great shape, you need to keep up with the regular maintenance, including oil changes, new tires, and more. Keeping up with regular maintenance allows you to solve small problems before they become bigger, more dangerous vehicle issues.

Some of the most common vehicle failures include:

Tire and Wheel Failures

Tire blowouts and worn tires are two common issues that you can have with your tires:

Tire blowouts– This can be caused by several factors such as under or over-inflated tires, worn-out tires, sudden severe temperature changes, or tires being punctured by a nail or other road debris.

Worn tires– As they are continuously used, your tires will begin to wear down, losing tread. This compromises the way your tire grips that road, especially in inclement weather. Worn tires can cause you to slip, take a longer distance to brake, and don’t provide you with the responsiveness you need to be safe on the road, which can lead to accidents.

Brake Failure

Brake failure is another common reason for accidents. If you can’t stop properly or it takes you more time to bring your vehicle to a stop because of your brakes, you are putting yourself and others at risk of a collision. If your brakes are squealing o hiccupping, it is a sign that your brakes or brake pads require replacement. You need to fix your brakes as soon as they show signs of wear to ensure that you can stop properly, preventing a collision.

Light Failure

The lights in your car, like your headlights and brake lights, only last for a certain amount of time. Without proper lighting, such as a burnt-out headlight, you reduce your visibility while driving at night and make your vehicle less visible to other drivers, which can lead to an accident. When your light burns out, be sure to replace it as soon as possible. If you wait, the other lights will draw more power and will then burn out quicker. We recommend replacing both lights when one burns outs.
